History Comes Alive in Narromine

Narromine is incredible proud of local hero Glenn McGrath, which is why the town erected a statue to him in 2009. Cricket fans will appreciate the story of McGrath, who grew up in Narromine in the 1970s, practising his bowling with a fuel drum set up against his dad’s shed, and went on to become a bonafide cricket star. McGrath played a crucial role in Australia’s domination of cricket from the mid-1990s into the 21st century, and he hold the world record for highest number of Test wickets by a fast bowler and is fourth on the all-time list!
